Core Leadership
Birudo is led by a senior team of development, engineering, and construction professionals with deep experience delivering complex projects across British Columbia. Our leadership model is intentionally lean and hands-on, ensuring direct accountability, disciplined execution, and continuity from early planning through delivery and warranty.
Having collectively witnessed the inefficiencies and misalignments common in traditional project delivery, Birudo’s leadership takes a more integrated approach—aligning design, cost, schedule, and constructability early to reduce risk and drive predictable outcomes.
Founder & Director of Construction
Mehrdad brings over 18 years of experience leading the delivery of complex construction projects across the Lower Mainland, with more than 20 completed developments totaling over $500 million in value. He is responsible for design development, pre-construction, and construction management across Birudo’s portfolio of multifamily and mixed-use wood-frame, steel, and concrete low- and high-rise residential and commercial projects.
A Registered Professional Engineer, Mehrdad holds engineering degrees from UBC and an MBA from SFU’s Beedie School of Business, combining technical rigor with financial and strategic oversight.
Mehrdad is involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from team assembly and procurement through construction and warranty. His approach is grounded in systems-based execution, disciplined cost control, and high-performance team environments, with a consistent focus on accountability and long-term project value.
Founder & Managing Director
Dan brings over 17 years of experience across real estate development, construction delivery, project management, and operations throughout Greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island. He provides strategic leadership across Birudo’s projects, with a focus on development strategy, infrastructure coordination, stakeholder alignment, and delivery oversight.
Dan has led multidisciplinary development and construction teams on projects totaling more than $400 million, with direct involvement in construction planning, procurement strategy, infrastructure servicing, and contract structuring. He works extensively with municipal and provincial authorities, utilities, regulators, and community stakeholders, navigating rezoning, permitting, and servicing processes critical to project feasibility and execution.
His role ensures alignment between development objectives, construction realities, cost, and schedule, supporting informed decision-making and consistent project outcomes.
Project Director
Gagan leads day-to-day project execution and construction delivery across Birudo’s major developments and brings over 8 years of hands-on experience delivering large-scale residential projects. He holds a Civil Engineering degree and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from UBC.
His experience includes working with EllisDon on the $400 million Brentwood Town Centre project, followed by a senior delivery role at Beedie Living, where he led the construction of two 27-storey high-rise towers, each valued at over $150 million, from excavation through occupancy.
Gagan’s focus is on schedule control, cost forecasting, trade coordination, and construction quality, with direct responsibility for procurement, change management, shop drawing review, budget tracking, and occupancy readiness. His disciplined, detail-driven approach ensures projects are executed in alignment with approved scope, schedule, and budget.Our Delivery Approach:Birudo delivers projects through a scalable platform led by a permanent senior management team and supported by established, long-term relationships with external consultants and trade partners. This approach provides flexibility in resourcing while ensuring disciplined oversight, continuity, and accountability from project inception through completion.
